About the Role:
Lee Recruitment Strategies is seeking a Junior Accounting Technician to support the Consolidated Mail Outpatient Pharmacy (CMOP) within the Veterans Health Administration (VHA). This role involves providing professional accounting and financial management services to Federal, State & Local, and other government clients. The ideal candidate will possess expert knowledge of the U.S. Standard General Ledger, Federal financial statements, and Federal budget execution while ensuring compliance with government financial management regulations.
Lee Recruitment Strategies is seeking a Junior Accounting Technician to support the Consolidated Mail Outpatient Pharmacy (CMOP) within the Veterans Health Administration (VHA). This role involves providing professional accounting and financial management services to Federal, State & Local, and other government clients. The ideal candidate will possess expert knowledge of the U.S. Standard General Ledger, Federal financial statements, and Federal budget execution while ensuring compliance with government financial management regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a team lead, coordinating efforts with accountants and analysts to deliver high-quality financial management services.
- Maintain expert knowledge of the U.S. Standard General Ledger (USSGL), Federal financial statements, and Federal budget execution.
- Assess financial products and procedures for compliance with government standards and financial management regulations.
- Ensure timely submission and proper formatting of financial reports in accordance with Federal requirements.
- Provide technical assistance and sound recommendations to senior Federal leadership for systems improvements and proper accounting treatment of financial transactions.
- Advise and assist staff and Federal officials in financial and accounting systems procedures, reports, and compliance requirements.
- Analyze financial data, transactions, and reports to support budget execution, financial reconciliation, and compliance auditing.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve financial systems and operational efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BS) in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in accounting, financial management, budget execution, or Federal financial compliance.
- Strong understanding of Federal financial regulations, financial reporting, and auditing procedures.
- Expertise in the U.S. Standard General Ledger (USSGL) and Federal budget execution.
- Experience preparing and submitting financial reports in compliance with Federal regulations.
- Proficiency in accounting software, financial reporting systems, and data analysis tools.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Military experience is a plus, particularly in finance, accounting, or budget management roles.

Compensation: $25.00 - $27.00 per hour
